On things not going to plan.
Letting go of what you thought it would be to make room for what it is.
You know that feeling when something doesn’t go the way you imagined?
You made a plan and held a solid vision. You mapped it out in your mind with hope and intention. You did everything you could to ensure things went according to plan.
But then, an even more powerful reality showed up, completely uninterested in what you had planned. And suddenly, you’re left holding the pieces of a story that didn’t unfold the way you thought it would.
We may not control what happens, but we are always in control of how we respond.
We can grieve the space between what we envisioned and what came to be and still choose to move forward. We can feel the sadness of a dream unmet and still hold hope and excitement for what’s ahead. We can carry disappointment without shame and allow it to loosen its grip on us over time.
Letting go doesn’t mean it didn’t matter. It means you’re making space for what does, and often the most beautiful chapters begin the moment we stop trying to rewrite the last one.
